Moline, Illinois is set to welcome a new McDonald’s restaurant, marking another expansion for the fast-food giant. Scheduled for construction near the shopping hubs of Target and Kohl’s in southwest Moline, the site has been an unused parking lot for several years, previously fronting a Kohl’s and a former Hy-Vee grocery store.
The ongoing preparations for the establishment are visible, with the area already cordoned off and initial groundwork underway. According to Chris Mathias, the City of Moline’s Director of Community and Economic Development, the city issued a construction permit in March. Additionally, discussions about a signage variance for the new location are currently taking place within the Moline City Council.
While the opening date for this McDonald’s is still pending, the community’s anticipation is palpable.
In related news, another McDonald’s is on the horizon for the Bettendorf area, specifically near the TBK Sports Complex. This upcoming location, addressed at 5221 Competition Drive, is expected to open its doors in mid-June, further expanding the fast-food chain’s footprint in the region.
