McDonald’s Reintroduces Breakfast Bagels to Iowa Menus After Four-Year Hiatus

McDonald’s breakfast enthusiasts have reason to rejoice as the beloved bagel sandwiches make a comeback under the golden arches.

The iconic bagel sandwiches have returned to menus this month, marking their first appearance in four years since they were discontinued. Customers can now indulge in four delicious varieties: egg and cheese, bacon, egg and cheese, sausage, egg and cheese, or steak, egg and cheese with grilled onions.

While the return is currently limited to certain regions, including markets across Iowa, McDonald’s assures fans that this isn’t merely a test phase. The menu item is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Scott Soifer, the operator and owner of various locations across Eastern Iowa, emphasized, “We have heard loud and clear from customers that they miss some of their favorites at McDonald’s — the number one request being steak bagels.”

The decision to remove the bagel sandwiches, along with several other items, was part of McDonald’s transition to a limited menu during the pandemic. This move aimed to enhance service efficiency and prioritize safety. Now, with the return of these cherished breakfast items, McDonald’s fans can once again enjoy their morning rituals with a side of nostalgia
